In case you're considering going to Bali on vacation or on a business trip, there are some things that you should know about this amazing island. The truth is that Bali is attracting more and more people because it has so many different things to offer.
So, here are 5 things about Bali that you should know:
1: The Weather
One of the things that you need to think about when you're considering traveling to Bali is the weather. In case you don't know, between October and April, it's the rain season on the island and between May to September is the dry season. One thing that you should consider is that if you want to take advantage of the amazing beaches Bali has to offer, you should come at the end of the rain season. This way, you'll still be able to find accommodations at more reasonable prices and the weather is probably already great.
One of the things that you need to know about Bali is that public transport is non-existent. However, you have drivers and cabs that are great options and they are both very cost effective.
In case you are staying in an accommodation house, some of them have their own shuttle services which can be very useful. Plus, when you book a tour, most companies will pick you up from your accommodation.
3: What To Pack
When it's time to pack, make sure that you take some light clothes that are made with breathable and natural fabrics. While some restaurants require a more formal clothing, it's nothing too formal. A kaftan will work just fine.
One of the things that you just can't forget to pack is an SPF. Ensure that you get one that is at least 30+ or 50+ because the sun can really hurt your skin. Even if you're only thinking about heading to the beach at 5 pm.
Another helpful item to include in your pack is an insect repellent. In case you're traveling with kids, make sure that you bring antihistamines, Ventolin, antibiotic ointment, and Nurofen.
If you’re planning on going to any of the speciality retreats like I do then you should pack extras like running shoes and training clothes.
While you may think that Bali may be a little unsafe, the truth is that it's becoming safer every year. Since Bali is attracting more and more people, and people are spending more money there, they are interested in keeping us as safe as possible. From security checks on bags and cars, as well as before you enter in hotels and major attractions.
5: Internet Access
While a few years back, you would have some problems having a good Internet access, the truth is that now, unless you travel to Bali mountains, you'll probably get pretty good coverage overall. So, there's no need in getting a pre-paid sim card in Bali. You'll find many places where they have free Wi-Fi and where you just need to ask them for the password.
